Procrastination Planning and Title 19

PROCRASTINATION PLANNING AND TITLE 19

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions”.  Our intentions are to save money, plan for retirement and to plan for the potential for long-term care in a nursing home.  Unfortunately, these plans are too often put off until tomorrow.  Suddenly, you or your spouse are facing a nursing home admission and you never put that plan in place.

The good news is that all is not lost.  The five-year look back rule is a confusing rule.  Although some planning must occur five years before you attempt to qualify for Title 19, there are planning opportunities at the midnight hour.  Do not assume there are no options.
